Specialized treatment for OCD, anxiety, and anxiety-related problems
Treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, and anxiety-related disorders should be data-driven and evidence-based to enhance the likelihood of effective treatment. I bring specialized training, precise interventions, and extensive clinical experience into my work with you.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP, also known as exposure therapy, is a focused form of CBT widely considered the gold standard for treating many anxiety disorders, OCD, and PTSD. Through treatment, you learn how to confront and overcome your fears in a structured and controlled manner. Essentially, ERP encourages facing the very thing we dread. Alongside exposure, we work to reduce avoidance behaviors that sustain fear and anxiety. The process of exposure therapy is systematically and carefully planned, and through repeated exposure you will learn how to rewire your fear response to your triggers. This therapy is highly collaborative and flexible. You're always in control, deciding the speed of progress. Through this process, you’ll learn to approach and relate to feared thoughts and situations differently, liberating yourself from the control of your anxiety.
I use various forms of ERP to treat:
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Social Anxiety Disorder
Panic Disorder
Agoraphobia
Specific Phobias
Illness Anxiety (Health Anxiety)
Hoarding Disorder
Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT involves various psychological techniques aimed at showing how your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and behaviors influence each other, which can worsen your psychological issues. By thoroughly assessing your situation and examining these factors closely, we can identify how they contribute to your challenges, trapping you in patterns. The goal of CBT is to modify unhelpful beliefs, problematic thinking, and ineffective behaviors. This helps you adopt healthier ways of thinking, relating, and interacting with yourself and your surroundings, breaking free from entrenched habits. CBT is a proactive, problem-solving approach that deals with current issues and barriers in your life.
I use various forms of CBT to treat:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Social Anxiety Disorder
Major Depressive Disorder
Hoarding Disorder
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Insomnia Disorder
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a unique, evidence-based form of psychotherapy grounded in hundreds of scientific studies on the research of language, thinking, and behavior. This form of therapy uses mindfulness and acceptance strategies, combined with behavioral change techniques, to learn how to relate to our thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations in a more flexible and and helpful way. By freeing up energy from trying to control, suppress, and avoid our internal experiences, we can devote our attention towards behavioral change and living according to our values. ACT focuses on six core processes intended to facilitate psychological flexibility. This form of therapy can be flexibly applied and incorporated to address a number of issues that will benefit from a less structured approach to treatment, or as a framework to facilitate more traditional behavioral interventions such as ERP and behavioral activation for depression. If traditional CBT strategies haven’t been effective in addressing your problems or if you prefer a less structured approach to therapy, ACT is an appropriate framework to use as there is robust research supporting its effectiveness for many clinical disorders.
Habit Reversal Training (HRT)
HRT is a focused psychological intervention designed to help people manage and overcome unwanted habits or repetitive behaviors. In HRT, we identify the specific habits you want to change and understand the triggers or situations that lead to these behaviors. Together, we develop strategies to interrupt and replace these habits with healthier alternatives. This may involve learning relaxation techniques to reduce tension or stress that often precede the habit, as well as practicing alternative behaviors to replace the habitual ones. The goal of HRT is to increase awareness of your habits, develop new coping skills, and ultimately regain control over your actions. It's a collaborative process tailored to your individual needs and goals, offering practical tools to break free from unwanted behaviors and improve your overall well-being.
I use various forms of HRT to treat:
Tourette’s & Tic Disorders
Trichotillomania (hair pulling)
Excoration (skin picking) Disorder
Other Body-Foused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs)

Additional Clinical Interest Areas
Men’s issues
Men and male-identified individuals face unique challenges in today’s world. Issues like loneliness, anger management, and adapting to major life changes such as divorce, fatherhood, or career shifts can throw us off balance, leading to depression, anxiety, or addiction. During my doctoral internship, I received advanced training in men's mental health and masculinity. As part of this training, I co-facilitated a men’s group at the University of Washington, where I supported men facing diverse life challenges. Therapy offers a pathway to understanding and overcoming these challenges, helping you break free from feeling stuck. If you are interested in learning more about how I work with these issues, please reach out to learn more.
Tech Workers
From entry-level software engineers to executive-level employees of Fortune 500 companies, individuals in this industry often navigate fast-paced projects and high-stress work environments. Anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and a lack of work/life balance frequently result in sacrificing personal well-being and experiencing burnout. Drawing from my experience working with many clients within the tech industry, I bring a wealth of expertise in addressing the specific challenges encountered by employees within these organizations. Through therapy you can find balance, manage stress, and cultivate a healthier approach to work and life.
